For the other Yagami-naive fans: Tai Kamiya has the goggles because he's an alternate reality version of Taichi Yagami, who was given the goggles by his grandfather (an aviator). Taichi actually got to use them though, because his digimon's Ultimate form is AeroVeedramon.
