When i read "He is able to read others emotions to such a degree that he is often overwhelmed by emotion himself".
I immediately thought, what if an emotion confused him, or saddened him to where he went for a walk and ended up lost.
I tried a few different things for this picture, over all im happy how it came out
(what kind of joke do you think the Poison Joke would play on him?)

It looks fantastic, I love it! As for the poison joke... It would probably be something that impairs him to understand other ponies. Like hearing a bunch of unintelligible noises instead of words. (animal crossing lol)
