I made the costume myself about 2 years ago Just the top and waistband though. I'm not too sure on the materials but I probably used fake silk, and thin cotton for the black trimmings and waistband. The pants are lion dance pants which I rolled up

Really? That's so cool! I wanted to make mine too but I'm not that good at sewing and I couldn't find any patterns or anything... Was it hard to make? I was thinking of using a kimono pattern, but I don't know if it would work...

I did mine with a more difficult pattern, cutting the top, collar and sleeves separately, but I guess using an altered kimono pattern would be a lot faster and easier haha. I was also just experimenting around as I drafted and sewed cause it was my first time sewing an entire costume myself XD at one point I wasn't quite sure what I was doing but it turned out alright lol. Just remember to use interfacing for the collar to make it stand

yeah, at first I thought of making the parts separately too, but if the kimono works, it's fine with me! XD
This will be my first time too, but I don't have a machine so... all by hand....><"

The altered kimono pattern will be a lot faster and easier but for characters like HK who doesn't move his arms a lot and has... manly shoulders lol, I guess separate sleeves would look better it makes the shoulders look more angular and thus making it look more sleek.
Sewing by hand would be very tideous but you can control it better! All the best!
