Hello. I just wanted to point out that those are not the symbols for the 4 nations in the world of Avatar The Last Airbender. They are the symbols of the 4 elements. The 4 nations have 4 different symbols, they look like this: [link]
The Fire Nation symbol is very similar to the fire element symbol, the Water Tribe and water element symbols both have wavy lines, and the Air Nomad and air element symbols both have swirls, so they are related, but they are distinct. If you see a element symbol on a building or something, it is likely a religious place, like a monastery or temple. If you see the nation symbol, it is most likely a palace or a place associated with the state or government.
With the Air Nomads, this distinction is blurred as there is no real separate between religion and state. The monks and nuns are the religious and political leaders of the Air Nomads, so in Air Temples you will see both symbols.

The following petition represents us wanting M. Night Shyamalan to give us his ORIGINAL 125-minute version of "The Last Airbender", which he filmed before Summer-2009....MUCH better than the version we ended up seeing in theaters. The Original version was praised by critics (published reviews) weeks/months before the movie was released.
