This is cute! I noticed your comment about light sources in your description. I've got a tip I think might help. On a separate layer from everything else, try drawing a little lightbulb or a sun somewhere around the character. Use that as your "source" for your light. In other words, pretend there are actually rays of light coming from that doodle, and color in all of your shadows based on where that little doodle is. When you're done shading, delete the layer your sun is on!
You can even use this for more complicated lighting, for example when you have multiple light sources and they're at different brightness. Draw the suns where each source would be coming from, and draw them in different shades of the same color. That way you'll be able to sort of see where your hard and soft highlights would be cast.
It's a really simple technique, but it really helps me remember where my highlights and shadows are coming from. Hope it helps you too! Good luck~

Ah, but to clarify, it's not a game. "Alice: Otherlands" was originally supposed to be a game, but EA, the game company who owns the game rights, refuses to make it into a game, so Mr. McGee started a Kickstarter campaign to get it going since last year. It's coming out sometime in early 2015, so please look into it.

This is the link to its official website. Mr. McGee updates it personally every so often to inform fans of the progress. Plus, it has a ton of awesome stuff and scripts for some of the shorts. He also talks about the progress of getting his "Alice" series being made into a film. Like I said, it has a bunch of awesome things, so please check it out if you're interested.

I played the first "American Mcgee's Alice", and it was cool to see a "scary" version of wonderland.
I thought that Madness Returns was much better than the first though.
The story was great... gaw I loved everything haha

Haha, I'm an Alice in Wonderland fan too, and liked the dark Wonderland concept in this game. I've only played Madness Returns, and I'd like to play the first one, but it's impossible to find!
