My second entry for the [Pokemon 2022 Illustration Contest] .
Since I planned for my other two entries to be detailed, I decided to do something more simplistic for this one, and went with my familiar geometric cutout style. You might pick up on the fact I chose a circle for a not-so-subtle pokeball reference.
Charizard is often depicted as such a ferocious Pokemon, I wanted to illustrate something that seemed more gentle or vulnerable, since big powerful Pokemon also need big powerful sleep!
To keep the background from looking too bland, I also snuck in some little embellishments on the walls to add a bit of lore and intrigue to the scene.
