Haha, I think it's just the fact that most of the time, people who create sparkle dogs are teens/young adults who aren't familiar with color theory or anatomy, which results in a lot of poorly designed creatures. So sparkledogs have become kind of synonymous with inexperience in art, and it's a trendy mistake that so many young artists make that people can't really take them seriously anymore.

I actually don't like the term Sprkledogs. As *Detrah said once they're are just a characters with unnatural colours. There are just so many haters... And that's sad because some people think that colorful means sparkledawg . ;-;

Ah yeah, people are often very quick to deem something a "sparkledog" even if it isn't. It is quite ridiculous how worked up some people get over it, I mean we were all inexperienced artists at one time, we all drew stupid or unconventional things, hahaha. Generalizations are probably the worst thing in art, like someone who draws a lot of lions is automatically a "Lion King artist", and someone who draws people with brightly colored hair is automatically an "anime artist". I don't think you should worry about people who generalize art, if they are so blind to the uniqueness of different characters then their opinion doesn't matter much.
