My entry for the Megaman Boss Battle tribute ! The folks in charge were nice enough to let me be involved a bit late to the party, and I'm honored to have a finished piece for the gallery! I do love me some Mega Man.After eye-ing a few of the remaining available Robot Masters and bosses, I saw that no one had snatched up Dark Man from Mega Man 5 on the NES, so I grabbed him as quick as I could, almost immediately knowing what I wanted to do with him! I always thought Dark Man was an interesting concept for a Classic MM character, being this "mightier than usual" Robot Master with a bigger purpose than any before. Not only does he make a big splash by posing as a fake Proto Man to set off the story, but upon discovering the truth, Mega Man's faced with overcoming FOUR different models of Dark Man!
To reflect all of Dark Man's powers and how he plays into Wily's fifth big world domination plan, I decided to illustrate a very clean-looking design for Dark Man's basic recognizable form with his electronic brain on full display. To show his three other forms, I had the key features of each one coming off of him as if he were a tribute to Leonardo Di Vinci's "The Vitruvian Man". I also included a shady-looking Proto Man head to signify the first step of his plan, as well as some data on the corner detailing features of Dark Man's powers and objectives. The music of Dark Man's "Fake Proto Man Fortress" always stuck with me too...

A boss with different forms, each with powers and weaknesses... sounds kinda like Smithy from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Cool design!

You appear to have executed this in the style of your TOME artwork. Then again, Megaman is one of TOME's primary influences.

it's really cool dude, but in truth i see the forme change thing and the special abilities. i think the name could be Bioman. Bioman because the character is able to change formes for each situation (as does a creature changes over time to fit the enviroment type)
other then that the character is really cool, and very well designed. concept is exellent and has a great potential

They probably decided not to go woth Bioman because of Super Sentai (Yes, there was a team called "Bioman." There was also Jetman, which is probably why THAT'S never been a Robot Master.)

Hmm, very nice. I like how you show an outline for every different alteration he has, as well as including Proto Man in it. As for the the rest of it, I love how you shaded and colored it. The shine on the dome on his head looks especially well done. ^^
