I like the gritty energy all the different directions of cross hatching give this drawing. As well as the way you saved the darks for his hair and shirt, it helps add depth to the picture. Good job.

lol, it's a joke that is based off of this boy who decided that he wanted to be "scene" for a year. since he's not from America, he said "scenario" instead of scene. that so super silly so I decided to share the joke to everybody! <3

How the hell do you get such a dark shade with regular pencil?!#$% O.O

layers and layers and layers, my friend.
dont destroy the paper by pressing hard, just put layers, not smudges.
my scanner also tends to blotch and bleach out my scans, so ive had to edit it slightly. maybe thats why it looks so dark.. i never really thought of it like that o.O
but if u want really really dark darks, use charcoal

Yeah, I do use charcoal..... but then it tends to look wrong with the rest of the picture (because the rest is using graphite pencils), so then there's an urge to go over the whole thing in charcoal.... and then that's where I get in trouble because of when you layer graphite, it refuses charcoal (and basically anything else).

ahh yea i know what u mean.
some of my charcoals here either i start out completely in charcoal (spontaneous xD ), or i will do the basic outline in pencil so i can place and form things, and i wont have to worry about messing up a nice drawing. and ill know exactly where my darks r. then once the drawings almost finish, ill always keep it open to go back over in pencil for details and intricate patterns, just slightly cause graphites shiny and charcoal isnt haha.
i dont usually go over a complete pencil drawing in charcoal, i usually like how my darks turn out so i dont bother. its just when i see them through the computer i think i need it darker >.<
