Here's an oldie that I made way back during my SSF2 Expansion Forum days. As far as I can tell, this was my first attempt at a fully custom sprite without using any base. I named him N.R.G. (I thought it was original at the time. I was young.)Basically, I used a bunch of line tools, some circle tools, and some curves. This was based on an old aluminum foil creation of mine that I used to play with, and I loved the design so much that I recreated him in sprite form. (Granted, it's not the same, and I'd definitely add some changes if I were to recreate him again. For one, I'd give him a proper head next time.)
Also, check out that smooth rotation. The arm is just the leg but rotated. I made this using AppleWorks. It was a fantastic office suite for the Mac, and its painting mode was something that I've yet to see matched on a Mac. It had the best rotating that I've ever seen, and nothing I've seen has matched it since. (Then again, it could be my nostalgia kicking in, lol.)
