well, i was reading your conversation with Amek92, and i'll have to ask...how exactly do you do this? i assume the stencil is you own creation, otherwise there will be a million of this same artwork on deviantart.

Hey Amek, I understand ya...I also have my doubts about using to much Photoshop and computertricks on stencils. How do you say it: less is more, so: less details would amplifie this image. This is almost too photo-realistic (air-brush film for the cutting?)... I suppose the picture would gain by quiting the B/W-brown pallette and paint the layers in psychedelic tones. Even Erykah would like it that way, I think.

Plus, less detail would not do this image any justice. I don't know what your talking about with air-brush film for the cutting, but all my work is hand cut and i use spray paint, not an air brush.
As far as the "psychedelic tones" go, definitely not my style. And unless you know Erykah Badu personally, don't assume you know how she'd like me to paint my pieces.

first, i really like your stuff. photoshopped or not, it looks really good and takes a lot of patience.
it does seem, though, as if you used this photo ([link] ) and then adjusted it to various contrast levels to create the various tonal levels.
i'm not saying this is bad, just saying this might be what is reffered to as photoshopping... as opposed to a hand drawn stencil.

Okay, have it your way...no computer stuff, all handy work, good all streetstyle stencilwork. For my opinion, it's not the technique that counts but the result...and yours is fine, so chill!!!
