He is the sole survivor from the House of El...orphaned from his homeworld...embraced by another.His new home has been ravaged, and decimated from the despoiling influences of Apokolyps...
He has lost everything...
he has nothing else to lose...but his world...
...he's NOT going to let this happen again...
He is Superman no longer...he is...
Kal-El...and vengeance is HIS!!!
...or something like that..
actually, I did this during a lull in my activities, and just tried to imagine Superman in an Earth that has been decimated by Apokolyps (did I spell that correctly?...), OR...I imagined just what Kryptonian civilization was like before it became civilized, for as we all know, civilization is the offspring of barbarism.
This was fun... I may just tighten this up...

Just out of curiosity, if he is "Superman no longer," then why is his costume covered in his herald? There are four showing, and if we assume your costume to be symmetric, there are at least six of them, and possible another on the shield and another on the cape. I like the design quite a bit, and the story has potential, but they don't line up.
Nay saying aside, it's still very good.

I don't know...didn't get that deeply into it...it was done for fun, anyway. Maybe it's a reminder to him of Krypton's death, and the fact that he will NOT let the same thing happen to Earth...who knows?

I'm not hating, I was just questioning the (now clear) motives. I also never challenged the value of the art, which is very good.
Apocalypse = the actual word, as well as the bad guy from X-Men that just doesn't die
Apokolips = The homeworld of Darkseid, Granny Goodness, Desaad, and some other evil gods.

The "S" is his family(Kryptonian) crest, and isn't really an "s". It's just a coincidence that earth peeps dubbed him "Superman" and his family crest looks like an "s".

Yeah, it'd be awesome. There was a scene in one of he last Justice league episodes where he lets go of his inhibitions to kick this dudes arse.. goes on with a speech along the lines of " for years ive had to worry about everyone around me, its been like i've lived in a cardboard city and always had to hold back for fear of breaking that, but now you've taken away my need to worry" n he kicks ass.. i dont know DC very well n dont know the name of the villian but it was pretty wicked
