Total lunar eclipse, taken at 10:17pm tonight.Canon Powershot SD850 IS, 8 mega pixels.
Taken through a Celestron digital telescope.
Sometimes, you just have to be at the right place at the right time...and know your old astronomy lab teachers

i had to rely on my camera's 52x zoom for my shots.
i got a pretty good closeup, but it is definately not as sharp as this one is

OH WOW did you up your ISO to shoot that? how did you get such an amazing shot! where were you at? i tried and i kept on getting camera shake or nothing at all.

I went to the astronomy courtyard on campus and they were doing a lab! They had all the telescopes out and everything! I just stuck my lil point and shoot camera's lens up to the telescope eyepiece and put the exposure on max. Wow, just realized I had it on macro as well! That's pretty much it, my ISO was set to auto too. And for camera shake, I was resting my hand on the telescope when I took it. My friend used her tripod and got good pics too, so I would do that next time if you don't have access to a telescope

No I'm very upset...It was cloudy earlier today....and it cleared up probably 1-2 hours ago...so I missed it...now I have to wait...to see it happen again.
