Description
It's Hoshi landing...on a ground or area which you cannot see.....My muse just decided to appeare last week, so I've been sketching like crazy....There is no point in even suggesting color...this picture was done completely in pencil and I WILL NEVER COLOR IT!!! So don't ask or suggest that, cause I know people like color ><I hope you like.....

This. Is. Fascinating. I don't like to reiterate, especially if it has been said a dozen times before, but I must! The shading is incredible. There is truly no point in coloring it; grayscale allows the focus to be on lighting and the details themselves.
I love how she has two different wing. But I do have a question. What's the object near her left knee? At first, I thought it was a feather, but it doesn't look like one — and why would a feather be there, anyway? >.<
The claws was where my sense of depth failed a little. But it's minor, and the problem may in fact be on my end of my optic nerve. ^^
By the way, did you consider that the reason why this might have the most views is because it's your featured one? ^^

I do prefer black and white over most colored, but I think that's because I seem to have a knack when it comes to my ability to choose the right colors.
Well, that little thing you couldn't figure out by her left knee, is my signature. But since I try to stick it in random places, I can see why you'd have no idea.
The depth in the clawed feet is a little off I think, or it could just be that I didn't shade it nearly as dark as everything else.
I know that that is the reason why it continues to keep getting pageviews, but even before, when the picture wasn't up there. It was tied with another picture with the amount of comments, but the number of page views was still quite overwhelming. So, I put it up as the featured one, due to everyones liking and all.

I always have enjoyed your style, and I think this brings together many of the different elements which make it unique.
I love the little bits of detail which you have included, and the two different wings add an additional point of interest. Those claws are outstanding!
Put that muse to work! She has to earn her keep somehow...

Hoshi has always had those two different wings, that I think reflect my sister's personality(because this character is based off of my twin sister) how she's so kind(the feathered wing), yet she has a strict sort of air about her(the dragon-like wing). Almost like she represents good and evil almost.
I've gotten some pretty odd looks for the claws on her feet, and I've given the picture some pretty odd looks.
This picture alone, has the most views, and it astounds me, because this was only supposed to be a shaded sketch.
I try to persuade her and feed her information as gently and as forward as possible.

I enjoy the way the character is enveloped within a feel that it is more than simply two dimensions, especially within the leather texture and folds on the left wing, wonderful work, plus faves.

I think it looks great in just pencil. It really makes you look at the form more then getting hung up on the color.

yup, and no matter what you and jes say, I really like! I must admit that Hoshi's right foot does look a little funny, but the face was the hardest part to draw and I like it so
