Not as shy as the larger mantises, this buddy kept an eye (or more) one me all the time

I'm not sure if it's right to judge mantises based on human perception of face expressions... But this one surely has an interesting expression (largely because of a great angle) XD

of course it's not right, they have little to no facial expressions (missing the proper fleshy, zygomatic muscles)
though, based on my previous encounters with mantises, this was one of the most daring (and one of the smallest too) and didn't flee at all, even when I inadvertently brushed on the flower
