So ever since 'It's Been A Hard Life' AU Rose sprite existed, I've wanted to pair her with Red!Kanaya. Just because it's my OTP and it works in my head. Rose with a drunkard mom and bruises from bully's and dirt poor... I imagine she'd be one of those introvert, shut in cases. Very quiet, hard to talk to, but elegant and well-spoken and a bit needy when opened up.And no, it's not connected with adamantApoplectic 's Red Dead Virgo AU, or at least I tried not to. (Didn't want to with the who Vriska thing already going.) Kinda hard when it already exists though.
So anyway, Kanaya applying some of here lipstick to Rose, because she's never worn makeup before. (And before you ask, its her only tube and she found it.)
Apparently we're trying to out-heartbreak each other. (Except not, because that's depressing.) 8)

This picture. . . Even though Kanaya is all cut up and what not, she is still able to care for Rose! Why are AU versions of everyone so wonderful to pair up?

Ah, it's not really an AU story. AU Hard Life Rose was
just one in a line of Rose sprite edits Aa made and I thought
it fit well with Red Kan, so I stuck em together.

I was never fond of Vris/Kan even before it was an option,
so they've kinda been my Fem-TP from the get-go.
Gotta love this fandom, it finds ways you'd never think of
to keep your pairings interesting. (And it's got great AU's.
It's the only other fandom besides HINABN that I've actually liked AU's.

Vris/Kan is something I'd never see working, mostly because of Vriska.
As for AU's, I've been a fan of those since DC's Elseworlds series. There's just something about taking a setting and flipping it upside down to find even better stuff.
