Description
This past summer I found out after MRI and X-rays that I was born with a spinal anomaly that left a bigger gap between vertebra on one side of my spine. The anomaly itself doesn't usually cause issues, but I didn't have the muscle strength to support the gap and my spine started to curve and pinch a major nerve in my leg.The pain was like a knife in my leg that radiated all the way to the ball of my foot. It ate away at me for a long time. I felt so broken and hopeless because I couldn't be as active as I used to be. Hearing "you're too young for this much pain!" only made things worst... I quit being active all together because I knew it would just hurt more later on.
Thankfully months later, I found a wonderful physical therapist that help strengthen and realign my back. I am about 4 months into therapy and even though I still have intense days, it took the edge off. Literally, months and months past by before I felt like there was a possibility that I could accept living with this amount of pain on a daily basis.
This painting is representative of all the nerve impulses and electric spikes that cause me so much pain. I want to believe that acccepting such a dark part of my life can turn the ugly situation into something beautiful.

This is beautiful I wish I could express my feelings of pain/acceptance in such an amazing way, you should be really proud of this work!
Hope you find some comfort in your artistic talent and see that the potential you have to make something this beautiful can maybe far out-way the disappointment you may feel at being less active physically.
