Description
Your a freak.Well, at least to "normal" people. But what is normal? Your not normal to them for being what you are, and their not normal to you for being so... normal. You had pondered this word for so long you decided to get the facts, so you found a dictionary.
nor·mal
ˈnôrməl/
adjective
conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.
Oh. You close the large book of words and think some more. So normal means boring? You open it up again to look for some answers.
bor·ing
ˈbôriNG/
adjective
not interesting; tedious.
You huff, frustrated by the incorrect information you find. Not all the people you stalked where boring, some of the things they did where funny and peculiar.
You always found girls putting salt in there baths, salt goes on food! Little kids were just the same as Sally; Imagination is adorable. But boys... Boys are just disgusting. Using skin care products never did make much sense to you anyways though.
Then something clicked. You knew for a fact, that your fascination with humans was not normal. Slender kind of stalked people to, but not out of fascination, it was to strike fear in their hearts. He hated humans, and would be furious to find out you were fascinated by them.
So...even among the things here you were not "normal" right? Would that make you a freak among freaks? Freak. You knew the word, but you needed to see the print, just to be positive.
freak
frēk/
noun
a person, animal, or plant with an unusual physical abnormality.
To behave or cause to behave in a wild and irrational way, typically because of the effects of extreme emotion, mental illness, or drugs.
No. No, that can't be you, you refuse to label yourself as any of that. In your anger, you grab the book, and throw at a wall and a very loud crash and thud echos through the mansion. A head pokes in the library, a hooded one.
"What the hell?" Hoodie says while picking up the dictionary. You smile awkwardly and leap down from the ladder, which you were using to get to the books on the highest bookshelves. "I dropped it." Lie. Hoodie looks at you and tucks the book under his arm. "No you didn't. You were on the ladder and the book was on the other side of the library."
You lie alot, but horribly, so it's not REALLY lying right? "Sorry, I threw it. Can I have my dictionary back?" You try to take the dictionary from him, but Hoodie holds it in the air above your head, and instead of jumping for it you stomp down on his foot, and he drops the book but on your head.
"Bitch." He says hoping on one leg. "Jerk." You say rubbing the bump on your head. Your eyes dart to the dictionary and you dive for it, wrapping it in your arms and holding it tightly to your chest. "Sorry Hoodie, but I gotta go." You dart out of the large library trying to get away from the aggressive fellow proxy, but he grabs you by the hair and pulls you back. Gently as possible of course, but it still hurt.
"Ow ow ow, OW! Stahp it Hoodie!" He takes the dictionary from your and let's go of your hair, and shakes his head as he leaves the room, you trailing behind him. "Why do you talk like that? Act your age and get a new hobby besides reading dictionaries. Seriously, your worse then Toby."
You mumble some nonsense and look at the dictionary again. Hoodie looks at it and turns it around in his hands a few times and then carelessly flips through the pages. "What's so special about this thing anyways? It's just a dusty old dictionary that you cling to all the time" You glare at him and huff. "It provides answers."
He tosses it up in the air a few times just to get under your skin. "Answers to what?" You try for it again but he catches it in the air and chuckles, making you even more irritated. Why did he always have to tease you?! "Answers to your stupid questions that's what. Now give it back!" He shakes his head and keeps walking, holding it out and snatching the dictionary away each time you grabbed for it.
"I'll give it back if you give me a really good reason." You stop and and exhale, not comfortable with explaining your attachment to the dictionary. "Well, It's comforting. Whenever I feel sad, frightened or stressed I look at and find words. They tell me what I feel, and what I am, what others are. My dictionary just makes things clear, it's like a guide." You stop and hold out your hands. "Can I have it back now? Please Hoodie, please?"
He stops to and looks at you and then the dictionary. He does this for awhile and then he speaks up. "That's just not healthy at all." he starts walking away from you, and you panic. "Hey, what are you doing!?" You chase after him, and Hoodie opens a window wide. He takes the big dictionary full of words and explanations, and throws it out hard and far into the dark woods that surrounds the mansion.
You stand there, jaw hanging open. All your precious words, lost in a sea of fog and trees. "You don't need words on a page to feel fine. Seriously, like I said, you need a new hobby." Hoodie closes the window and looks at you casually. You feel tears sting your eyes, and you push him out of your way, running to your room to wallow in your self pity.
Sleep didn't come easy, you fought it to the best of your abilities, but it was winning. You were still plagued by the dreams of a proxy because you didn't want to take those pills. No offense to Masky, but you didn't want to be an addict. But without your precious dictionary, what would save you from your night terrors?
You slowly drifted off into sleep, and it was undisturbed for a peaceful amount of time. But the nightmares came, and worse then ever before. You didn't even remember what your dreams were of when you bolted upright from your dream, you just felt absolutely terrified. You felt around in the darkness for your dictionary, but it wasn't next to your bed. It was lost in the woods.
What would occupy your mind, help you calm down? Your dictionary and its words and definitions were gone. Gone. And your own mind and words were gumbled up in your paniced head. Scared further by the sudden change, you begin to cry, scream. You felt like you were being suffocated, even though it was only you in your room, thrashing around in your blankets.
Suddenly your pulled from hysteria by a strong grip on your shoulders shaking you back and forth, the light coming from the open door showing you who was trying to snap you out of your self inflicted trance. "(Y/N), (Y/N) stop it, be quiet, it's ok alright?! Just stop screaming your tits off!"
Shivering and sobbing, you manage to control yourself while taking loud breaths in between your small crys. Hoodie mumbled something, and got up from the bed; he shuts the door then opens up your dark curtains, letting the moonlight shine through your window.
Hoodie looked at your pathetic figure. If he had known that you truely did use your dictionary as comfort and weren't just exaggerating he would have gave it back to you. He thought of leaving to give you privacy, but that didn't feel right.
So throwing away his rough and rude attitude, he sat next to you and used one arm to draw you close to him and the other to gently squeeze one of your hands. "I'm sorry... so please, don't cry, it'll be okay. I promise I'll get you a new one ok?"
Your sobbs turned to sniffles as you relaxed in Hoodie's embrace. Hearing Hoodie mumble gentle words made you feel safe. They made your dictionary seem hollow. They weren't blunt and informative, they were sweet, caring and truely comforting, they held a warmth your dictionary never gave you.
You found yourself drifting off, only thinking about Hoodie and how nice it is to be held. "Thank you, I forgive you..." You murmur as you wrap your arms around his neck and finally fall asleep. He froze, and then awkwardly patted your head. At some point, Hoodie slipped away, but not before laying you down and tucking you in.
Not a single nightmare attacked you the rest of the night.

I agree, Hoodie is actually really violent in marble hornets, so I never understood why most of the fandom makes him a stuttering shy mess but hey each to their own I guess.

Thank you very much! I honestly don't know why everyone ignores Hoodie. He's always out shined by Masky, or other proxy.
