I have to finish this tonight. I don't know if I will have any time to go over the calculations again tomorrow.

Donatello was so engrossed in the project before him that he failed to notice the presence looming up behind him.

The slightest smile curved Raphael's lips as he took in the sight and smell of his brother. Too long. It's been too damn long. His eyes greedily drank up of the sight of the moderately scuffed shell and the smooth olive skin. He relished the sounds of metal clinking and soft mumbled calculations. Memories that he had forcibly buried years ago in order to keep going hit him with such impact that it dragged a soft sob from his throat.

The sound startled Don and he turned around to face anguished golden eyes. The deluge of emotions in those eyes twisted his heart viciously.

"Raph, I...."

Without any warning, Raphael seized his brother and captured Don's lips with his own in a violent dance. The kiss ended just as abruptly as it started, leaving a stunned Donatello to tentatively wrap his arms around his brother's heaving frame. The movement caused Raph to tighten his embrace momentarily then settle his face into the sweet hollow of Don's neck.

The minutes slowly ticked silently by as Donatello gently rubbed the scarred and battered shell, quietly memorizing all the new scars and cracks.

Breaking the silence, Raph whispered hoarsely, "I missed you....so...damn...much. And I am going to miss you so damn much when you..when you...when........" The choked confession left Raphael feeling like razors were sliding down his throat.

Don closed his eyes, gripping his brother in a tight hug. What could really be said in this moment? Words slipped in and back out of his mind as he picked through them, trying desperately to give even the smallest fragment of comfort.

"I can't tell you what will happen tomorrow...." Don breathed deeply and pulled his brother back so that he could stare into grief-stricken gold. "But I can tell you this. You, and Leo, and Mikey, you all mean everything to me. I will love you always. Always, even if there are only trace molecules of me left, I will love you."

Strangling a sob, Raphael grasped his brother pulling him into another fevered kiss, but this time, it was a little gentler, a little more...hopeful?

Pulling back slightly, Raphael husked into his brother's ear, "Show me?"

Nuzzling softly and smiling, Don replied, "Gladly..."
