Description
Here's yet another map set in my Revolution! TL, this is a map of the Kingdom of Spain, circa 2016 with all of their autonomous regions being shown here (minus their North African holdings).Related content

Other than Cantabria, Leon (as it's own separate nation), and Murcia, the whole gang of Spanish separatist movements is here.
Though I would've preferred it if the Balearic Islands where a part of Greater Catalonia as well, since the Basque Country has Navarre and and La Rioja within it's borders.
But whatever, it is your timeline after all. Have a nice day.

I've seen people make comments like this before, but they're usually curious about why the borders are different because they don't know anything about it. Then there are people like those two...

Do they even read the title?

"Alternate History", which I think I know what it means, isn't a sufficient explanation for anything one comes up with. It differs from pure fantasy in that is expected to be grounded in reality and causation. Now, I'm not saying there cannot be the changes that appear here, including a Basque Country that includes La Rioja. But if, as your AH publicites itself, this is about a Victorian Cold War, La Rioja has roughly 150 years to develop a Basque identity or any Basque trait whatsoever. If it was just an institutional decision, the reason for such a decision is a pertinent question that, I think, cannot be simply handwaved with "it's AH".

Nice. Interesting texture, how did you make that?

I just got a blank map of Spain with the administrative divisions and deleted the white with the wand tool, then I messed around with the layers to get the flags behind the transparent areas before adding some static to the image.

I like it, and I'm not sure why that particular poster got so angry about it.
I'd be interested to know why the Balearics aren't part of Greater Catalonia (Catalan Countries as an alternative name?), and if you were going to include Murcia in Andalusia, I'd include Albacete as well (the province above, currently in Castille-La Mancha).
And maybe call the Basque country Navarre? It has more gravitas to it, I think

Hmm... I do see your point, I just had a mind blank when it came to getting a name for Catalonia.

By the way, appart the North Africa holdings, you have forgotten Cantabria and Β La Rioja (in this point I agree with you because they are artificial creations and they, effectively, have always belong to the Castillian Crown) and the Murcia's Kingdom, aspect this that has very much less exculpation. Surely are things of the "alternate history" to include Murcia in AndalucΓa. This for not speak about Navarra.

Well, Spain could be under the Visigoths/Franco/Communists/Carlists, it's up to the creator of the scenario.

Yes. I think that it is stupid and aberrant. But I do not think that this is a case of alternate history but a mistake by your part. I doubt very much that an Australian can understand the meaning of this "error".
