Extra credit! Everglow isn't in this class, I'm just using the prompt.

"You two really did a number on each other. More than I thought anyone could do with a couple of pebbles."
"It was a bit bigger than a pebble," Everglow huffed a short, nervous laugh.
The brown staxie's eye & tail glands were alight in a vibrant orange as he made work of the small gash above Everglow's eye. It felt...strange. Everglow didn't know how to describe it, to have your flesh stitched back together by magic. He couldn't imagine what it would be like to have anything larger healed in the same manner. It wasn't painful, it just...felt odd.
"I guess a rock or two got mixed in somehow," Koevit sighed, "did Stone Skin not work for you?"
"It worked for the pebbles, once I got it down. But I don't...think I was even using it when I got hit by the rock. I remember I got hit then next thing I knew he was also hit. I kinda feel like shit for it? I tried to heal him but it didn't do anything."
"Ah, with Purify Wounds? You did a good job at cleaning any debris that could've come from the rock, at least," Koevit gave a slight smile, which then dropped, "Hm..don't think I didn't notice you registered for three classes. Didn't you know they're taught at the same time?"
Everglow shrugged, "Bit of an error on my part, but I'll get through it. Err..the 'same time' thing, I did actually register for three classes."
"Abjuration, conjuration, and necromancy, yes? Abjuration I understand, I've known you've always wanted to learn it since you were a stump. And conjuration is certainly useful. Now, not many staxies take two classes at once, let alone three..." Koevit paused.
Everglow nodded, "Yeah, but I pick things up pretty quick." He wasn't exactly wrong, but not entirely right, either. He was able to brute force his way into starting, but fluency in a spell took time.
"Necromancy," Koevit started again, "I remember you asked me about hearing spirits. Now, I'm not claiming you meant yourself specifically...but did they ever end up seeing Albert like I suggested?"
Everglow's eyes lost contact and darted to the floor, "No...I guess not."
"Everglow...have you ever considered you might be overworking yourself?"
"I can handle it," He stated
"As I said, not many staxies take on so many classes at once. It's only the first day, if you'd like you could drop one or two of them," Koevit offered.
He shook his head, "No, I've got it."
"Whether you do or don't, I can't help but worry you'll end up hurting yourself," Koevit sighed, "aside from rock-related injuries."
"I'll be alright," Ever stubbornly insisted.
"There's no convincing you, is there?" Koevit gave the pale staxie a concerned grin, "Well...please, at least take breaks between taking up spells in class. And give Albert a visit!"
"Alright, I will..." Everglow compromised as the older staxie bandaged the closed wound, "Huh? Is it healed?"
"It should be. You healed much nicer than your classmate, but I'm not taking any chances."

"But also you're a bit...how do I say this...disabled."
Her words stung like a bubbee, yet laced with a certain venom. Never to Everglow's memory has someone's words been so blatantly vile. With a stump right in front of them, to top it off. If it weren't for their little audience Ever ought to whack them upside the head with his cane. But he couldn't, not where Skipper could see. He already hurt someone today anyway, and he felt shitty enough.
All he could muster was "fuck off", but he didn't even want to swear in front of the stump. A honk it is, then. He didn't give a fuck if it sounded goofy, Skipper seemed to enjoy it. Besides, he might as well practice his spells while he was taking a break...from practicing magic.
As the orange antagonist backed off with a scoff, Everglow made an effort to dismiss their words. It was certainly nothing Skipper should be learning from.
"Don't mind them - their words were smelly," he told the stump, "like a crub."
Everglow clicked his tongue, which lit up fuschia as he twisted the sounds into the clicking of a crub's claws - at least, the best mimicry of one he could muster. It was a much gentler spell to cast than any other that day, much less strain than attempting to solidfy his skin to stone or clean a wound.
Skipper thought his words over, and those of the staxie who had approached them.
"Ever....Everglow," Skipper asked, eyes wide with the boundless curiousity of any other stump, "What's the...the D word. What it mean?"
The D word? Obscured like a swear, it took Everglow a moment to understand what she had asked.
"Oh, disabled?" Everglow paused while the stump's eyes somehow seemed to widened further. How was he supposed to explain this to a stump?
"Well...I guess first off, it's not a dirty word," he began, "it just needs to be used right. That staxie was very rude, they used it as an insult."
Skipper stuck her tongue out in a mock raspberry. Rude indeed!
"Disabled means...it means a staxie's a bit different from other staxies. They might have trouble doing things most staxies can, they might need some extra help," Everglow attempted to explain, "For example, I'm disabled. I have albinism like Butter Bean - that means I'm really pale - and use a cane like Koevit," he picked up his cane to display to the stump, "things might be harder for me, but it doesn't make me lesser than anyone else. Not me, not Butter Bean, not Koevit."
A certain green staxie caught his eye from across the room. They weren't doing much - not that they could, really. Not like they used to.
"Slurm, too. One of their glands cracked - they got real hurt," the pale staxie added, "anyone around us at any time could have a disability, whether you can see it or not."
He put a hand behind his head, "So I guess it's good to be kind to the staxies you meet, since you never really know just what anyone's going through. If that makes sense."
Skipper processed what she had been told for a solid few seconds before giving a firm nod.
"Good to be kind!"
