i don't think it's stealing, unless you trace line for line XDD
it's more a leaning process, you get used to drawing it till, well, you can draw on your own ;D
it's just the way i thought myself to draw XDD watch my mum, read comics, and try to remember XDD

well, there were a few, but they aren't really my style-i dallied with many of them many times, but burn and dodge seemed to work best. i'm definately going to try that one though =]

Well burn and dodge always give a "plastic" look to images because plastic is a material that reflects "whitish". I wish you luck on finding ways to replace the burn and dodge because it was really made to touch up photographs and not to draw :/
