(Bruce made a wish, and mermaids must grant the wish (and in this case, being a slave) or they die. And Damion is a draconi (dragon-demon) who fell into a trap and now has his heart possessed by Bruce and must do everything Bruce commands him to do. If Bruce dies, Damion will die too!
