Constructive Criticism!
I like your character's color scheme, and I like the background colors; but i don't like them on the same picture. The textures on the jacket catch my eye, but then I think; they don't look like they're supposed to be on a jacket. I like the floral print on the black undershirt, it's pretty different.
As for the coloring on those darker areas, it looks like either magic wand or paint bucket was used. I remember when I used to try coloring that way and then I figured out how to get rid of it, haha. I like those pants and the added white, overall I like this picture.

When your working with the lineart and background all stuck on one layer, use multiply... I think that's what it was...
Haven't used photoshop in a while... =.=

but what is bothering me are the pants.

I really like the colors, but the lines aren't blending in well with them.....=/ That's my only beef for this.
Other than that, love the background and the colors, as said earlier

Did you use layers? Did you set the layer mode to Multiply for the lineart??
