Nope, I set it up like that. White poster boarder, as my background.
There is no editing involved in this picture, besides me cropping it to size!

Impressive.  I've used a similar setup with foam board and poster board to create a white box to shoot into.  It needs a bit more than natural light though.

I tend to take the picture in front of my patio door... good amount of light shines in, but not enough to drown out the whole picture.
The set up hasn't failed me yet, it is primitive but I like it - it's simple.

Simple is better in my opinion.  If you can get a nice hi-key background that way, I say go for it!
