Description
SO. It's a small, beginner, squishy-text tutorial. I hope it helps someone! And if it doesn't, then at least you'll be able to see how I made the Scruffy sculpt, from start to finish.Related content

Don't we have to use a wire 'skeleton' before using the aluminum foil?
'was reading a different tutorial'
Will the 'end product' (after baking) will it be strong enough?

it depends... somepeople use just foil, and some use wire and foil. it really depends on the kind of sculpture you are making

Wow, I didn't know that they were in such short supply o.o I'd like to make a better one eventually, since this one is pretty popular and quite old. If you need any help, just ask me!

thanks for the tutorial. ^_^ I was wondering, if one wanted to use wire instead of aluminum foil...would it still work?

Eeee, thank you!
I've never tried wire armatures so I wouldn't know how to use them, and I'm not sure how much it would bulk the sculpture and save you clay. But other artists use it often, so it's probably better than foil. Just search up a wire armature tutorial, you'll probably get some results.

Cool I really liked it, and I really want to get some sculpey now, but I live in thailand I don't know where to get it. Is it expensive?

I don't know if you'd be able to get it in Thailand. It's possible, though. erm....
*checks website* The only place listed here is this one - 23/22-23 ,Soi. Udomdej ,Sukhumvit Road,Paknam , Muang
Samutprakarn 10270
Thailand, Thailand 10270
I have no idea what that means, though I'm guessing it's an adress. If they ship it to Thailand, though, I wouldn't be surprised if you could get it at just any old crafts store. *sifts through again* Yep, it says not all stores are listed. My frequented store isn't on there either. I'd be willing to bet that you could find it at a local arts and crafts store. Look for a pack of original white sculpey, it goes for around $11.00 here, which is a great deal for the amount of clay you get.
You may be able to buy it online if that doesn't work, but I don't think you can get it from the Sculpey website.
Glad you liked it, and good luck!

hehehe, I'm glad you could make some sense out of that [link] is the website, and Sculpey is different than most clays because it doesn't dry out and stays flexible until you bake it. You can re-bake it, paint it, and do all kinds of other stuff with it. It's great for beginning sculptors. Just look for a box that says "original Sculpey" on it and has white clay inside (there should be a little see-through bit on the box). Good luck, and be sure to show me what you make with it!

And OMG guess wat! The paint doesn't come off with water after it dries.

BATH TOYS. I want to make a not-so-rubber duck. It'll probably sink.

Looks cool! I'm pretty sure you can add more sculpy to an already baked piece and then bake it again. If something wonky happens on your next sculpture you could always fix it by trying that.

Thankies! I think so too, I've seen MLP's and the like with sculpey add-ons, but I haven't experimented with that yet and I want to make certain of the "side effects" before actually using it on any of my finished sculptures.
