Ok, look. For those of you out there who keep blaming our problems on Obama...
Fucking stop it.
Seriously, this shit has got to stop or I swear to god I am going to find each and every one of you and put toothpicks in your eyes.
Ok, so I won't. But that doesn't change the fact that I'm pissed off at people like Bill O'Reilly.
The guy's an ass.
ANYWAY.
1. Obama is not a socialist, and it's not like universal health care is gonna send us all to hell. OH NO! Equal health care? That's awful!
2. Abortion is a woman's choice.
3. I'm ranting here.
5. Keep church and state separate, KTHNXBAI.
Anyway, flame on. Flame ON.
For those who are curious:
I am INDEPENDENT. Both parties have their merits and downfalls. Nevertheless, I do lean to the left.

TPP The Dirtiest Trade Deal You've Never Heard OfUpdate July 3
Good morning, following your comments I messaged the EFF, foundation responsible of defending your rights in the internet to let them know that their petition is archived, since I'm not sure if they are aware of that. In meantime I updated the petition link with another one available on their website, which you can find in here: Contact Your Lawmakers and Speak Out Against the TPP (U.S.) It's in a form of auto-generated message on the right side of the website, you can edit it to your own needs of course or write it on your own, it's a nice solution though if you don't know how to put it all in pretty words. It basically covers up your concern about TPP as a consumer and constituent, asks for releasing the secret documents so they could be available to public and asks for the right to have any input in TPP agreement (remem

I'm not whining about Obama because he's 'a muslim'. I'm whining because he's a fucking idiot like all the past presidents. They all suck because they don't know what the true problems in the US are. Instead of fighting poverty and high unemployment rates, they keep focusing on this 'war on drugs' and 'gun control', which is pathetic. Yes, I would love to have strict gun control, but it's never going to work because people will still find ways to buy them illegally, yet they don't seem to realise that. I'm complaining because they're not truly here for the people. All they care about is money, and that's it.
Sorry, I just had to let out a small rant about him and the others.

This whole thing reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw a few weeks ago down here in Texas:
"He won. Again. Get over it. Again."
The people who cry and scream and rant about how HORRIBLE Obama is rarely have concrete factual reasons WHY he's so horrible. The best they have is usually vague Republican talking points and nothing more, and sometimes even the talking points are just MADE UP! One of the recent ones I heard was that he was only reelected by a few hundred thousand votes, which was well within the margin of error, so he was only reelected by voter fraud!
Well, YEAH, if you live in Rush Limbaugh Fox News-o-topia. Meanwhile those of us in the country of Mainstream Media-stan actually live in reality where facts are actually true and stem from common sense.
Some of these people don't even have to operate in the realm of FACT. Not even nuanced fact, but rock solid blatant find-it-in-two-seconds-via-Google rock solid!
They are so hellbent on Obama being a horrible President that it's like they wrap themselves in utter bullshit security blankets of "Yes... the black Democrat did HORRIBLE! YEAH. Oh he was so awful. He DESTROYED 'MURIKA. We need to get another Bush in there to fix things again!!!" I hate it when people pull the race card with Obama, but you know with SOME of these people, his race DOES play a part in their neurotic knee jerking. The whiners (and ESPECIALLY the GOP!) didn't act this batshit crazy when Clinton was in office and he actually committed impeachable offenses, for God's sake!
I'm not saying Obama is perfect because no President is, but he sure as hell has done a better job than W. did, especially considering the load of horse shit he inherited and the ridiculously childish Congress he's had to fight with at every turn. I often wonder how much he would have been able to do by now if the GOP hadn't decided to proudly dig in their heels and oppose every single thing he's tried to do. They've been pouting for almost 8 friggin' YEARS now.
These same people tend to blame the recession on Obama as though HE caused it when in reality he's the one that got us OUT of it! The economy went down the toilet in September 2008 , which was before the election even HAPPENED! How in the hell is that HIS fault?! I mean come on, people, SERIOUSLY? That happened under W's watch, and W. was the one who signed the FIRST bailout which was completely unmonitored and abused.
Obama signed the SECOND bailout. Every dollar was accounted for, and the last I heard, not all of it was even dolled out.
We had a budget SURPLUS when Clinton left office, meaning we were actually starting to PAY OFF the national debt. That debt then TRIPLED under W. Why? Because of massive tax cuts to the wealthy and two wars, Iraq and Afghanistan, that were never included in the budget! Well no shit the debt skyrocketed.
But somehow — magically — THAT is Obama's fault, too. Our deficit has actually been reduced, but a lot of the people doing the bitching don't understand the difference between "debt" and "deficit".
The Dow Jones was at ~8,800 in December of 2008, before Obama took office. Today it is at ~16,900 and has recently topped 17,000 — the highest it has EVER been, and unemployment numbers have steadily gone down for years now. The whiners conveniently ignore that and continue to yell about how HORRIBLE the economy still is, as though it's still just as bad as it was in '08-'09. If they acknowledged those facts they'd have to admit that things have gotten better under Obama, after all.
Even though Obamacare met and exceeded the numbers needed to make it qualify as "successful", the GOP and whiners still act like it's the downfall of America. The only states where it has hurt the poor — like here in Texas — are the ones that are Republican-controlled and thus turned down the federally-funded expansion of Medicaid (which was more of the tantrum of fighting everything Obama does).
Now, the federal Obamacare website DID suck. It sucked balls. There's no arguing that. But they fixed it.
The whiners don't acknowledge the patient protection portions of the ACA, either, because those are GOOD things for those of us who are self-employed, unemployed, can only find part-time work, have a job that doesn't provide benefits, and/or are not yet eligible for Medicare. I'm self-employed with preexisting conditions, which meant I was at the mercy of insurance companies. Before the ACA I tried to get insurance through Blue Cross and after being grilled on the phone for over an HOUR about my medical history since I was a child, I was rejected. The nerve damage I have was the SECOND reason for my rejection. The FIRST reason? Menstrual cramps that are bad enough to require pain medication. I was rejected for having a functioning uterus. I have insurance now because of the ACA.
And the GOP has wasted time AND taxpayer dollars by voting to repeal it more than 40 TIMES.
DOMA was overturned. Don't Ask Don't Tell was nixed. The LGBT community has finally gotten some PROGRESS. There's still a lot more to be done, but still! Just finally having a President that is in FAVOR of same-sex marriage and equal rights and protections under the law was a huge step in the right direction. I was even pleased that Obama had CHANGED his previous position on the subject in order to be in favor of it. In that case it wasn't flip-flopping, but rather being able to consider all of the facts and being open to new opinions and viewpoints on an issue in order to carefully reconsider a previous personal stance on the issue rather than sticking to the original position out of being too stubborn or prideful to admit that he was wrong, and then changing that position not because of political reasons, but because it was what he PERSONALLY felt was RIGHT.
Bush had no problem starting TWO wars (and no problem making a fool of himself by declaring "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!" only a couple months into the FIRST one!) and sending our young men and women over there to die or be broken physically and mentally beyond repair (and cutting funding to the VA, too!), but he sure did have a problem with those same young men and women being seen coming home in CASKETS. So much so that he BANNED the press from taking photos of the caskets being unloaded from the aircraft that brought them home... which was one of the most DISGRACEFUL things of W's Presidency, IMO. And surprise, surprise: Obama lifted that ban.
The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have been ended. We've avoided starting any OTHER wars even though the GOP has been chomping at the bit for Obama to start one with SOMEBODY. Who needs diplomacy when we can just send some chess pawns soldiers over to blow shit up?
And then there's the ridiculous nonsense of the GOP constantly trying to claim that Obama is abusing his power and doing illegal things, repeatedly calling for him to be impeached even though they've had ZERO grounds for it, and now acting as though he's a dictator on par with Hitler or Stalin because of his use of executive orders? He's issued fewer executive orders than any of our recent Presidents, but the GOP is trying to say that he's acting "imperial" as though no other President has EVER done such a thing, and now Boehner saying he's going to SUE Obama? Are you KIDDING ME?
The amount of shit the GOP has given Obama has been absolutely ridiculous not only in its disrespect but also in its hypocrisy. When W. was in office they constantly screamed and bitched about how W. needed to be shown RESPECT because he was the PRESIDENT, and if the Democrats had tried to do even a FRACTION of what the GOP has done to Obama, they'd have had KITTENS. They've done nothing but show Obama DISrespect and blatant DISDAIN, and it's been APPALLING. I mean, to even publicly say that their goal was to make him FAIL? That sounds downright treasonous!
There is no doubt in my mind that the moment Obama leaves office, the GOP and all the whiners are going to start furiously trying to rewrite history to say Obama was the WORST President in the history of the United States just like how they tried to rewrite history to make W. out to be one of the BEST Presidents in the history of the United States even though he ran the country into a ditch with the wheels still spinning when he tossed the keys to Obama in January '09. Just as their revisionist history didn't work on W., I hope it won't work on Obama.
I know I just wrote an essay here but I am so tired of the idiocy from the GOP and the whiners that I could scream. It makes me sincerely fearful of what will happen the next time a Republican is inevitably in the whitehouse again... but with the way the GOP has been acting lately, that hopefully won't happen again for a while.

He won't bring a miracle, but I don't think he's responsible for the messed up state of this country, he hasn't been in office long enough. He's not perfect, but in my opinion he's a hell of a lot better than Bush.
I guess the issue of who has more pros than cons is an issue of party... I'm mostly democratic so I'm definitely biased. It's just how I was raised.

Naw, neither do I. That's what I meant too- you can't say he messed up the country, but he isn't going to bring a miracle. I think both sides are flawed; you always need a good balance in politics, but, alas, that isn't the case. I'm fed up with hearing all this whining about either side of the debate. :/ UGH.
I do have a certain political side, but I'm not that really keen on politics. I find them interesting, but I'm not one to dabble in them too much. :3 You can't ever truly escape for politics though. I'm curious to see what Obama ends up doing though. I'm pretty neutral about Bush, but that's just an outside view from a non-American citizen.
