Because favourites are nice, but they don't tell the artist why you like or love their piece of art. A click of a button can't give the personal touch and interaction with the artist that a comment can in my opinion.Dedicated to all those artists that, while they appreciate their favourites, feel like they aren't getting much feedback on their work. I think they deserve it, don't you?

If it takes a few seconds to click as a favourite, it can take a few more seconds to say why!

I generally agree with this. I mean your icon says "Don't forget to comment!" Maybe the icon is a tiny voice that some people ignore.

Omg you're right, I love reading comments because people can tell you why they like your artwork, their opinions etc. I usually add a comment before faving a pic

I agree with this a hundred percent. What really annoys me is when someone favs my art, then when I visit their page a bunch if other people are thanking them for favs. It makes me wonder if the people really care about what they're faving.

Yes, the last drawing I was proud of, literally got 5 favorites, I usually have on my crappy art, around 7.Β

ya, i posted a really really good cat drawing, and i only got 2 favs..... i was SOOO proud of the drawing, i could just imagine, 3 comments the next day or even more, but...

I honestly don't care about getting faves! I just use it as a way for me to see it again with out hours of brain racking about its name and such!
I honestly try to comment every image I fave but sometimes I open up so many tabs with so many pictures I just want to get trough them all! I know how it feels to not get comment besides smiley face and good job. It really really sucks!!!!

This happens to me almost all the time since I joined DA, I only get about 45 messages which they are favorites, but I only get 2 or 5 artist's comments! I will say this is true.
All they want to do is to fave-and-run without leaving any feedback!

I've been getting low views and zero comments,i felt un-appreciated for my work.
One of my biggest pet peeves is people only go onΒ
my main page comment,just to say "Thanks for the fav."
Sure it was nice to say thanks but at the same time
