The Beginnings//slams fists on table, finally i got this out. This may be the last update I do for a while since I'm going back to school in a month... uNLESS I WORK NONSTOP ON THE NEXT ONE RIIIIIIGHT NOOOOOW.....huoghAuthor Notes:
-fun fact, max and conner were actually brothers in my original notes but i changed my mind when i designed max's parents

-Matthew didn't say a single word this update but he was definitely thinking about something. (he also makes a great flashlight, thank u eggy boi for letting me have fun with lighting)

Whoa, just read this all in one setting and what a start! I love what you're doing with the worldbuilding and character development. Also, the first death was human wtf... well, maybe not death if Elm is still alive, but it drew blood and I honestly thought he was done for. I was also under the impression that Conner was a magikarp for some reason, not sure if the ear fins were intentional in that respect or if I'm just dense. :I His necklace is very mysterious....
Anyhow, consider me a new fan! The dialogue here is great and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes. >:^D

Matthew the Flashlight truly had some absolutely beautiful lighting on this page. And although this page was set at night, you did a wonderful job of letting all of the colors come through. The backgrounds looked amazing at well. There was also good build-up to the "I am changing," line in the dialogue...KAT. Why are you so amazing????Β

This was really intense, like. There's no physical fighting, but the verbal sparring here cuts deep.
Also, I love the lighting in this!! And the expressions. And everything. It's SO GOOD ok

This update was also just SO GOOD!! I love the way you're handling the rival in this situation, this complex desire to be better but struggling, the way other people perceive that life story...the intensity between him and Max is just so great. I LOVE your use of the lighting in this scene as well!
