Well, truth be told what you are doing is not belly dance, or anything like it, I don't mean this in a harsh way, but you are a fusion dancer/tribal fusion dancer.
Your costume, music, and moves aren't belly dance but are a Rachel Brice clone fusion dancer.
That always bothers me when people call themselves belly dancers but aren't..I'm not even sure what it is they're doing out there, but any Arabic/Turkish/Persian/Lebanese/Egyptian or other foreigner can tell you it is something else entirely..heck, it's not even American Cabaret.
I have 16 years experience in the Bellydance community, with a wife who is a pro, and know my stuff.
That said, there is a market for fusion, so keep up the good work!

Oh I know (now, at least.) when I posted this, I had only been dancing for 5 months ish, so I was still learning about the wonderful world of bellydance, in its many forms.
I'm learing more now though! I have almost 9 months under the belt. I get 2 lessons a week in mostly Turkish annd egyption, and self teach the more tribal stuff, trying to get work shops when I can.

I couldn't find your page again after I posted that last night..got to thinking how harsh I must have sounded, sorry for that.
I meant to be informative, but I think I sounded like a jerk, again, apologies.
I could see you are a baby dancer still, and I should know to be more encouraging to those out there doing their best.
[In the dance community there is a large ongoing battle over what dance form is what..seems to have divided most fusion/tribal and cabaret forms.]
Are you a member of Bhuz.com? That is a huge bellydance forum, and there are all kinds of 'belly'dancers there, lot's of tribal and more..My wife has been a member of the forum for years now and seems to really find it fun and informative.

Haha, that's okay! I think thats just how a lot of things can be percieved through the internet anyway. It's hard to get across what you mean, when you can't include your tone of voice and such.
And yes, I've noticed there can be a battle with what's what, but I try not to get caught into that.
And no, I don't think I've heard of there actually! Thank you! I'll be sure to check that out.

A lot of the costume has to be hand made, a lot of it you just can't find anywhere else, unless you want to fork over aloooot of money! D:

Yeah, it's was for a group shoot, so every was just set up super fast so everyone could get images and practise in. I'll definitely want to shoot with this outfit somewhere else.
