EDIT: Inked and coloured. I was originally going to colour this in watercolours, but I then decided to try with my gouache cake set from Caran D'ache since I've only used them once. I also used ProMarkers for shading. I think I bit more than I could chew when colouring this though. Sorry about that.

What’s this? Lydi’s put on a sketch instead of a finished piece?? I've said it once and I'll say it again- it sucks having ideas but no skills.

So yeah, this is an idea that I’ve had for ages. And by ages I mean before Legend Of Zelda Twilight Princess came out.

Twilight Princess didn’t come out until I was about 12-13 I think and I didn’t go on the Internet a lot at that time. So the only way I could get info on games that I wanted was to buy game magazines- most of them I got were Nintendo magazines. I can’t remember if it was an original concept for the game or just a theory from the magazine makers, but I remember it saying about a concept of Twilight Princess being based on the film LadyHawke about Link transformation into a wolf and apparently Zelda transforming into a hawk. I originally thought that this was true until I got the game. (All the possible ZeLink moments there could’ve been.) So you can guess my disappointment when I actually played the game found out it wasn't true. BD;; Never the less, Twilight Princess is still one of my favourite LOZ games. And I’m still planning on getting the HD remake.

Anyhow-who, this pic is based on LadyHawke. For those that haven’t seen the film, it’s about a boy who meets a black knight and his hawk that is actually his lover cursed by an evil and jealous bishop. At night the knight Navarre, would turn into a wolf; and in the day his love Isabeau, would turn into a hawk. The two could only see each other in their true forms for a split second during sunrise or sunset, but never have enough time to even touch. This is based on the scene when the lovers see each other in their true forms during the sunrise presumably for the first time in years. Just as Navarre has turned back into a human and tries to touch Isabeau, the curse turns her into a hawk. Clip of scene here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hl-8np…

I wanted to give Link and Zelda animal features to show that their transformations are still in the process. I think I’ll ink this in sepia or sanguine pens and colour in watercolours, but I’ll need to be back at my flat to do that. And have time of course. 8D;;
