Description
EDIT: Check out the original sketch of this work! [link]I've been dying to draw this picture for ages, it feels like and I can't believe I finally finished it. The idea came to me when I was in France ... "That could be nice!" I thought. ^^
Well ... this took some time and hard work, indeed but I am very happy about the final version. I have to say it's one of the most ambitious paintings I ever made, and it's the deviation this far I'm most proud of!!
For those of you who don't know, it's Midna and Link of the Zelda game Twilight Princess.
THE FOLLOWING TEXT MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS. So, now you've been warned.
Yeah ... I wanted to draw a picture with Link and Midna together. Midna is the main character of this painting, seeing it from her perspective. This is also my first time drawing her true form! Yay ... ^^ I used a reference for some of the details on her hair and body marks, but most of this picture is drawn from scratch.
So, I think the Link x Midna relationship, more or less is a love story - one of those sad stories you can't help but fall in love with - you know the concept. Sadly, they don't end up together even though they make a nice couple.
This is my opinion.
And this picture is kind of what their relationship is all about. Whether they are "in love" or not is up to you, but there are feelings in any case.
There's a background story behind this picture as well. All I can say is, Midna was trying to take Link with her when she left the World of Light, but then there was a wind that pulled him back and his grip of Midna's hand started to loose. But the rest is far too much for this comment
I loved drawing this and I really hope you like it as much as I do. I used pencil and inking pen for the outlines, random watercoloring pencils (or what it's called) for the coloring, and then it was the background. That was a tricky one. Eventually I created this nice effect, based on a self-invented idea - water brush on top of pastels.
Don't steal or use without permission, thank you.
Please leave a comment and tell me what you think! That would make me really happy
