So here we go! Finally!
Here we have Link and Midna from Twilight Princess, I guess reunited somehow.

Painted in acrylics.

A little something for all the shippers (like me) who wish Midna and Link had gotten together in TP, but they never did and since this will probably never happen in one of the games, I'll have to satisfy myself by drawing stuff like this (and with fan art and fanfics by other people). xP

So I bet what you're all wondering now is how on earth Link is able to reach Midna (she's about a head taller than him, lol). XD No I'm not serious about thinking all of you are wondering that, but my answer to the question is: I guess Link is standing on his tippy-toes ... And if that's not enough, I guess Midna's bending over. Lol xD

If you hate this pairing, that's fine by me. But please don't just talk about how much you hate the pairing in your comments. Try to judge this as a painting instead in your comments and give constructive critisism on the way I painted it I respect your pairings, so please respect my pairings in return

I'm seriously in a relationship with this pairing <3 xD Lol but I think these two are about the cutest couple ever. And finally I'm submitting more art featuring them as a couple, as I said I would And this time Midna's not even telling him they're not in a fairy tale, haha. I may do even more Link x Midna art (and if I don't do it right away, then it's very likely that I'll at least submit comics featuring them, probably not as a couple, but still XD)

I feel pretty good about this being my first submitted deviation in 2012 (because I like it, that is). More to come! 8D

I chose the title "Finally" because
1. The picture's finally finished and that feels great ... And I've been wanting to paint this picture for years, literally. Probably since around 2009 or something when I first started shipping Link x Midna xP Well, what I wanted to paint was a nice kissing scene between the two of them, and I've tried to sketch it countless times, but something always came out wrong and I was never entirely happy with the result. (I find kissing scenes pretty hard to draw). Until some time ago when I FINALLY sketched something out that looked OK.

And I finally got the time to color it, today, so I did. I've been really artistic today and worked on the picture all day. Only taking pauses for doing such necessary things such as brushing my teeth, eating and watching TV XD (not that it has anything to do with this, but I watched the awesome BBC Robin Hood TV series and Community, which is a hilarious sit–com that everybody needs to check out!!)
I was also very tired while painting from sleeping too little last night, so that made it a bit difficult to paint sometimes, but I was determined to have this finished. God knows when I would've had the time to work on it again.

2. The second reason I chose the title is because Link and Midna seem to be really thrilled to finally be back together on this picture xD

I really love painting in acrylics, and I think I'm good at it too. (And, as it seems, I'm not short of self-confidence either XD) It was great that I could paint this today because when I'm in school I never have the time to do stuff like this. (I have my winter holidays now)

So ... I wanted this to come out as good as possible, and perhaps it's not perfect, but I think it can well be the best I can do with my current skills.
And I love how this came out I'm really satisfied with it. I guess I could've done some things in a different way, but I wanted this finished and I thought that if I changed it too much, it would be asking too much of myself. And I would be really tired. And I might even mess it up so that it turns out worse than before, and then I'll get stressed while trying to get it right again.

If some things look messed up or strange, then I'm sorry. Maybe the anatomy is a bit wrong? I don't know but as I said I don't think I can ask too much of myself and force myself to change all those things that may be a little bit wrong. And like Dalí says (he's awesome!) "have no fear of perfection – you'll never reach it".

I like drawing Midna with slightly wavy hair xD Well I took some liberties I guess, though I'm aware of how the characters look in the game. Link's nose may be slightly the wrong shape, but whatever.
Easily, the hardest detail to draw was Midna's turquoise glowing markings on her arms. It was hard to figure out exactly how the designs looked from different angles, but I think it turned out good.

Also I painted Midna without her cape and headpiece with the tiara because I wanted her and Link to be completely free from boundaries in this picture. And Midna being a princess (while Link is not, lol) is one of the factors that makes it hard for them to be together. If she's not wearing the princess outfit it feels more like they're free to be with each other, I think.
