i remember having one on my tamagotchi (which is v.3 and machine washed and dead). According to what i read, it's from poor care

i remember a school back in china in which you didn't get in trouble for bringing tamagotchis into class.
btw, tamagotchi= small egg (tamago= egg, chi=chibi=small)
