Ah yes, good old Hans Riegel Senior. The german founder of Haribo, he invented the gummy bear in 1922!
Called "Dancing Bear", or "Tanzbär", this fruit-flavored gum-candy was inspired by the trained bears seen in festivals and markets at the time!
Rest in peace Hans, we'll never forget you.
