Rain pattered on the windows of my dorm, leaving little streaks down the glass. They ran down like little tears, the tears of the sky crying, and they had every right to.

We had only recently come back from an expedition, and it was a fail.

Nothing else was found, it was a dud. The only thing we recieved was death. Lots and lots of death.

The female titan had shown up, and in her search for Eren, took out groups after groups after groups of soldiers. Both Levi's and my squad, and my friend being some.

Tears prick at my eyes at that thought. It was just awful.... We didn't even have time to react!! The female titan had showed up out of nowhere, and chased after us. The next thing I knew, she was gone, and so were the others.

I was the only one to survive, and I feel bad about saying that. I should have protected them, I should have helped more. I should've done something!

But I didn't, and now everyone is gone.

Curling up into a ball on my bed, I squeeze my eyes shut, willing the tears to not come.

Softly, I hum a little tune to myself. That's what (f/n) always did when she was upset or scared, and that always seemed to help the both of us.

However, it did nothing today.

Tears began to roll down my cheeks, and small hiccups erupt from my mouth.

This time I let them out, and soft sobs escape from me.

Suddenly a knock comes from my door, and concerned voice echoes in through the wood.

"(Y/n)! Are you in there?"

Turning my head so that it is buried into the pillow, I ignore the person outside by refusing to answer.

The knocks come again, this time more urgent, and the same voice calls out again. I continue to ignore them.

"Alright that's it! I know you're in there!"

The pounding becomes louder, until at last the door swung open, slightly crooked due to the fact that is was pretty much knocked inwards by the person outside.

Slowly I turn my tear stained face upward to face my intruder.

A furious looking Mikasa comes storming in.

"What the hell are you doing in here?! Everyone is worried sick about you!"

Rushing over to my side, she pulls me up, and squeezes my cheeks together furrowing her brows.

"You've missed training and meals. The Corporal is furious!"

I stare up at her with dead eyes, a monotonous expression present on my features.

She starts examining my face, and her eyes widen when she sees all the tear tracks that run down my cheeks, and the redness around my eyes from all the crying.

"(Y/n)...."

Sighing, I push her hands off my face,and stand up.

"What time is it?"

She remains seated on the bed, staing up at me with concern in her eyes. "5:30. Dinner is served in the mess hall already."

I nod slightly, and began to walk out, but Mikasa had jumped up and grabbed my wrist. Twirling me around so that I faced her. Bringing me closer to her chest, she gives me a warm hug.

Tensing up, my eyes widen a fraction.

"You'll come talk to me next you ever feel this way again right?"

Letting out a low hum of response, I slowly nod.

She lets out a sigh of relief and releases me. "Let's wipe away those tears and head out alright?"

I nod again, and use my sleeve to dry up some of the evidence.

Heading out of my dorm, we walk down the corridors in silence....well aside from my occasional sniffling it was silent.

Arriving at our destination, she grabs ahold of my hand and drags me into the kitchen, and just randomly picking up food, not even paying attention to what it is.

After obtaining enough I swear to feed an army, she dragged me into the mess hall to the table she normally sits at with Eren and Armin.

Eren waves enthusiastically at us but then stops when he sees my expression. His face furrowed in concern as well.

After Mikasa was done practically yanking my arm off, and we arrived at the table, Armin and Eren had swarmed over me. Their features were covered with worry.

Armin hugged me from the side, while Eren was examining my face.

"(Y/n), what's wrong?"

Blinking up at them, I shake my head.

"I-It's nothing."

"Damn shit it's nothing! What's wrong?"

Mikasa who was sitting to my right, glares at Eren, and flicks him on the forehead.

"She obviously doesn't want to talk about it. When she is ready to open up, and tells us what is going on, we'll listen. But until then, leave her alone!"

Eren grumbles something under his breath, but obliges.

Armin leans over some and whispers something to Mikasa, and they both muttered back and forth.

As my comrades talk amongst themselves, I scan the dining area for a certain someone.

That certain someone was Levi.

The death of his squad was a huge impact on him, and I want to see how he was handling it. Most likely better than me. I'm a complete wreck.

I checked for him among the superiors' table, but he wasn't there in his usual spot. How odd.

Searching around the rest of the premises, I saw him not to be there.

I furrow my brows, and shake my head, looking down at all the food I got. I might as well start eating.

I grab a small loaf of bread, and take a half hearted bite out of it.

Downing it in a few minutes, I grab another loaf, and stand up.

The others look up at me with surprise.

"I'm going to head back to my dorm. Thank you Mikasa for the food, and thanks boys for being concerned."

I turn on my heel and begin to walk away, not even waiting for a response.

"Night (y/N)"

I nod indicating that I heard, and keep walking.

Leaving the mess hall, I decide to take the long route back to my dorm. There's really no rush to get back. It's not like anyone is there waiting for me anymore.

Sighing, I walk down the seemingly endless corridor, my face deadpanned of any emotion.

Walking past one door, I hear a soft sound of sobbing seeping from it.

Cocking my head to the side in confusion, I head over to the said door, and press my ear against it, listening in like the nosy person I am.

The quiet sound of sobbing continues to come from it, and when I look around for any sign to whose this room belongs to, my mouth drops open in shock.

This was the very room of the Corporal himself.

I listen in for a little longer, awaiting for any news of him stopping.

Still the soft cries continued.

I furrow my brows, and softly knock on the old wooden door. The sobbing instantly stops, and the whole room goes quiet.

Knocking again, I call out.

"Sir? It's me Cadet (Y/n)."

A clicking of the tongue is heard, and a shaky voice calls out.

"What the fuck are you doing here? You finally decided to appear out of your little damn cave of what you call a bedroom? Tch, about fucking time."

Ignoreing all his harsh words, I continue speaking as if I didn't hear him.

"Were you just crying sir?"

It was silent for a little bit, before he responds.

"Like hell I was. You need to get your damn hearing checked brat."

Biting my lip, I go through my choices.

I could just bid him good bye, then head off, most likely leaving him to start crying again,

or

I could break one of the biggest rules by entering his chambers without permission, and comfort him somehow.

I decide to go with option 2, and open his door.

Swinging the heavy wood open, I am met with a trahed room. The normally freakishly clean office, was now in chaos. Papers were thrown all around, the books in his shelf were all over the floor, signs and paintings, tatters on the wall, and clothes littered the ground.

The corporal himself sat amongst the ruin curled up on himself.

His hair was a disheveled mess, and his clothes were wrinkled and sloppily thrown on.

Him upon hearing the door open, snaps his face upward in my direction, and fixates me with a glare.

The skin around his eyes were red and puffy, and tear tracks decorated his normally flawless face.

"Corp-"

"What the fuck are you doing in here?! Get out!"

Ignoring him once again, I begin to take steps towards him, carefully avoiding the bits of broken glass and other objects on the floor.

He quickly backs up, and stares at me wide eyed.

"Oi brat! Who the hell do you think you are disobeying me?"

Upon reaching him, I slowly crouch down until I'm at his level. Reaching out, I bring him into a hug.

His frame automatically goes stiff, and he pushes me away.

"Stay away!!"

Making another advancement towards him, I bring him into yet another hug.

"I know how you are feeling, I feel like a wreck. I've been crying myself to sleep these past two days, and I haven't been able to function properly. I've lost the joy in the hobbies I normally enjoy doing, and even my friends aren't helping. It was like a nightmare losing all those people....so I can understand your pain, and I want to help."

Levi's eyes widen, and he stares up at me. Ever so slowly, he brings his arms around to pull me closer to his chest. Burying his face in the collar of my neck, he tightens his grip around me.

"I'll always be there Levi. I promise. You just have to speak up."

Letting out a shaky sigh, he nods.

"Thank you."
