Description
Entry for NVIDIA's SpeakVisual Contest.Isn’t it irritating when your mouth is stuck searching for the right words? Your mouth would move to shape itself into hopeful but hollow memories of those familiar words. Your tongue would find itself in a loop—circling the inner perimeter of your teeth and glossing over your reddened upper lip. Using similar words just don’t cut it and leave you unsatisfied. The condition gets worse when the futile search fails and the text climbing up the girl's shirt never reaches her mouth, leaving that itch in your mouth to taunt you for the rest of the day.
Although language certainly simplifies and organizes everything into neat little boxes fastened down by rules, it is still only one form of visual art. Visual art, on the other hand, encompasses a wider range of means to convey expression. With all the unique flavors that tint our thoughts, it’s hard to completely capture even half of what we’re truly thinking and so, the more paths we can walk along to get our point across, the better.
Remember how middle school teachers used to always emphasize the phrase “Show, not tell” in our essays? That phrase constantly flooded our ears to etch into us that “showing”, which goes in hand with “going visual”, exudes images that have a finer connection with the reader’s mind. When we translate our image into words and the listener in turn translates our words into their personal mental images, we can’t help but lose bits and pieces through the process. Of course we can’t directly link our minds in any way but we can get closer to it through personal manmade images that imitate our original thoughts. This is why the eye is placed on our basic tool to create these images—our hands.
Speak with pictorial messages and comprehend with your eyes because the visual reinforces and adds a new plane to any murmur of spoken words.
Or to put it simply, when words simply aren’t enough, go broader—go visual.

Notes:
The text on her shirt includes "words", "lexicon", "dictionary", "text", "alphabet", "vocabulary", and random letters of the alphabet.
The Nvidia sign is depicted as a tattoo shown beneath the eye.

Awesome work. I like the way your description ties in with the image. It works well on its own, too, but the description makes it even better.
Very well done technique and creative imagery. I really like the message and how the uniquer pose emphasizes that.

Whoa
Personally, you don't need all of the overlying layers of the neon-y writing...I'd really love to see more of the brushwork on the eye and the throat!
