Description
Now that I've drawn both Kaede and Keya sufficiently, had to draw them together! Some backstory in case people are intrigued:

Keya was a Magician like her co-student Mahad, but kind of sucked at magic -- or rather, her particular skill in magic required loads of magical energy to use, which often left her exhausted, so she stopped trying. She took to becoming a swindler on the streets of Egypt instead, using her magic to tell vague fortunes and such. However, the Pharaoh's guards aren't too pleased with her swindling and call her a thief, opting to chop off her hands. Mahad steps in, convinces the guards to let her go, and scolds her for taking such a despicable turn in her life, then invites her to serve under the Pharaoh -- which she reluctantly accepts, becoming a dancing girl. Eventually she gets involved with a bad crowd (see: Thief King Bakura), gets a mean case of Stockholm syndrome, and is told to kill Mahad/the Pharaoh but she refuses and dies for it. Her Ka monster was Magician's Valkyria.

Thousands of years later, Keya is reincarnated into a greedy girl named Kaede. Kaede's parents spoiled her growing up, as her father was a successful salaryman, but Kaede grew up unhappy regardless. When her father took to drinking and became harsh and violent, he threatened to cut Kaede off, so Kaede opted to start making her own money -- by swindling, hustling, and other such crooked schemes. Duel Monsters became her biggest vice and she took to more and more swindling to make enough money to get all of the rare cards she can. Despite her shallow demeanor, Kaede really just desires unconditional love, and adopts her Duel Monsters as her best friends -- because objects cannot betray.
