Alright! This took me a minute to make, but behold--an updated sheet for Verse! I started using him in an RP, so I figured he needed more of a reference than this old pic . His backstory is still going to be on the old picture (because I'm lazy) but here're some new details I've worked out about Verse:

Powers

*First, forget everything I said about Overset, this is what it does now--it's the power to play with time. It allows him, briefly, to stop/start, and even reverse, time. But, regardless of what he decides to do with Overset, he can only do it for a few seconds. So, he can go back in time for a few seconds, stop time for a few seconds, slow time for a few seconds--you get the picture.

*He cannot go forward in time. He can only go back. He can, however, make time go faster around himself. He's not technically moving into the future; he's just making time go faster around himself.

*Most of this--minus the backward time travel only--changes if Verse gets his hands on a human soul. Since Verse, himself, does not naturally have determination, he has to get it from human souls. When he gets a soul, he uses it rather like a battery. He drains its determination until there's none left and then discards the soul.

*Here's what the advent of Determination lets Verse do:
--1 Hour Time Change--Whether it's slowing down time for an hour, speeding it up for an hour, or whatever, this ability uses up 20% of the Soul's Determination. Adding on another hour requires another 20%. For example, 2 hours = 40%, 3 hours = 60%, so on and so forth.
--Reset--A simple reset, wherein Verse dies and goes back to a save point, uses up 40% of his Determination.
--Save Points--If Verse uses a Save Point, he gains back half the Determination he currently has plus his current Determination--x + 1.05x= y (Yes, I know, we're artists, we all hate math. But, I couldn't think of another way to explain what I meant better.)

Backstory

*Verse loves spicy food and sour candy. He keeps a secret store of lemon drops in a secret pocket in his hooded jacket.

*Before his family was enslaved by Nightmare (more on that in his old sheet), he wanted to be a carpenter.
--He liked making things--furniture, toys, anything. He just found it very relaxing and peaceful.
--He really misses it, now. Whenever he has downtime, he carves little wooden figures and leaves them in whatever AU he's in. Sometimes, he gives them to little kids.

*Verse tried and failed to kill Nightmare twice. He's been punished harshly after each one.

*Verse wears his mask for a few different reasons:
--1. He's an open book without it. He has no poker face.
--2. He's fucking adorable and Nightmare needed him to look scarier.

*Verse was 16 when Nightmare enslaved his family. He's now 22.

*He's afraid of the dark.
*He hates hurting people.
*He craves contact and attention, because, back "home," he can never have it. Nightmare doesn't allow Cross and Verse to be affectionate with each other because any positive feelings disgust him.

Also Verse was made by a random generator; I plugged in random sanses and Cross and Killer were paired. If you have a problem with that, take it up with the algorithms. I don't necessarily ship Cross and Killer. I just had fun making their ship child.
