Wow! I'm really happy to have stumbled across this piece---it was used on one of CCAD's promotional booklet things, right? I remember looking at it and thinking how nice it was. I really love the colors and how enthusiastic it is. ^_^

Hey, that's hilarious. Judging by your watercolor/graphite self-portrait, I think you're right. I've been trying to find other CCAD students on here, and I had just assumed that you were further along than myself. Really awesome work! I'm a little surprised actually; I wonder which ones placed 1st and 2nd? This one definitely stood out while I was touring CCAD and I'm very happy to have transferred in among so much talent. Later on!

Well, after spending most of my twenties with art on the back-burner and living out the blue collar dream (yeah right), I took a slew of cheap-o general education courses at Columbus State for transfer credits. Then I was an industrial design and sculpture major at OSU up until this semester at CCAD. I cannot tell you how happy I am now that I've transferred to a school that truly appreciates and recognizes illustration as a legitimate career choice.
Anyway, I thought that the robot was very awesome indeed; however, that's an oddly subjective decision for first place in my opinion. What medium did you create this in?

I used photoshop CS3 and a small wacom tablet.
Yeah, there are not many illustration programs, period. Missouri, my homeland, did not have a single illustration major that was not heavily design (ad/graph) based. Thus I ended up in Ohio.
