Description FIRST OF ALL, this is an old tutorial I wrote on my old account but didn't really get a lot of attention due to the heavy (almost 12MB) file pack it came in. However, since showing it to some friends and getting positive response I decided to reupload it here without the extra bits, as well as on my sketch account. It has a lot of information in it I'm sure would help a lot of people and would prevent me from having to repeat myself, so by all means take a look at it if you feel you could use it.

SECOND OF ALL, because it's so old, it has a lot of spelling errors and sometimes vague explanations in it. Forgive me for that, but I don't have the time or the motivation to take all this and make it into a new one. I've learned a lot since then xD

LASTLY, if you have any questions regarding things written in the tutorial, make sure to ask them, be it by comment or note. I want to help people by giving them the information I wish I had when I started out.

INDEX:

Opencanvas or Photoshop? - the differences between them. Opencanvas' brushes are comparable to those of SAI, I just didn't know the program yet back then.
From sketch to finished inks - a basic start on picking the right brush continued in the next part.
Getting your lines smooth - tips and tricks on getting flowing lines and the linearting in general.
The basics of lineweight - A short guide on how I do mine, where to use it and why.
Colouring your lineart - IMPORTANT detail: this part features how to lock your lineart and seperate it from a white background.
Adding effects - how to give your lineart a blurry effect and how to add a bold outline, both made for photoshop though.
(ngh no dark blue) Tricks for mouse users - IMPORTANT detail: how to get lineweight and smooth lines with a mouse or without pen pressure. It still takes a trained hands to get steady lines though. try combining this with the short stroke/edit with eraser trick from

That shall be all.
