This is a really adorable photo.
I like the colours in this and the blurred background that makes the dog stand out more. The dog itself looks very cute, and I really like that we're face-to-face with him in this photo - it creates kind of a more intimate mood.
Although I can't really say there's something wrong with the composition - the dog is the focus and it's right in the middle of the photo, I still feel like it could be improved a bit more. A suggestion from me would be that it could look a bit better if there was more of the background in this, in a way. I think the photo should show a bit more background over the top of the dogs head, and a bit less of his body and the bottom of the photo. That way, you could make use of the rule of thirds and create a bit more interesting composition because the dog had more "room" in the photo.
All in all, I think this is a really cure and well done Photo, there's just one thing that could make the composition a bit more interesting.

Awesome! I love Labradors, though I haven't had the pleasure of owning a full lab yet. I do currently have a working dog who my vets and I suspect is a Huntaway Labrador X though, and he is a lovely boy.

Yeah, I'm a big dog person too. Of all the dogs I've owned/trained, Flick here is easily the most challenging I've worked with just because of her energy and lack of concentration. So worth it though.
