Greylag goose(Anser anser)
I was laying down on the ground for this shot. Amongst all the mess that geese make from eating to much 'greens'..I got some strange looks I can tell you
14/01/07 resubmitted the photo after more editting in PS.
Saturation of colours mainly

Nah mate definately a Greylag
If I had a shot of a live archeopeteryx I would be a very rich man..

Cool 1 i know what you mean about getting wierd looks i got that when i took that photo of the squirel i find the best shot taken are at the animals level always look better nice pic.

Excellent, excellent quality and a killer crop that works well. Razor sharp and that just really does it for me, I can't think of anything to suggest to better this.

I was using my s5600..These are fairly tame birds and I was surrounded by the group of 5 that inhabit our local park lake..So the focal length was fairly close/small
I will have to check the exif for the exact measurements

I just had a look and the focal length was 38.6mm..I am not sure, but I think to get the measurement in 'old' 35mm slr standards with compact zooms and superzooms etc you multiply that by 4 giving a total of 154.4mm
I read abou the above equation somewhere..Just cannot remember where so unable to check
Hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong

Those "greens" come out at high speeds too! Used to have a goose at work called Joe. It was amazing what came out of his rear end!
