adjusting the curves might make this one pop a little, as it's a little flat, but it's a great capture.

Really adorable capture, and taken from so close ! Looks like you used flash... which gives the image less depth and contrast.

I did indeed use flash..The area was in shade and the shutter speed slow..So it was a case of I had to either up the ISO with resultant noise or use the flash

That's really great close up.
You must have a very powerful zoom...
.. or very greedy squirrels.

Thanks
I have an Fuji S5600 which has 10x optical zoom(approx 300mm I think)
These are fairly tame squirrels though and will approach you to take peanuts out of your hand..

I wish I had both - tame squirrels AND that big zoom.

that pic makes me laugh. he looks so sinister yet calm with his peanut. How'd you manage to get the shot without him running away?
This shot brightens my day, excellent work man.

The squirrels are fairly tame at our local park and will approach the hand (with the peanut ) as long as you stay still..

Superb close up of the little guy Kelvin! They are little terrors but I have a soft spot for them nevertheless!

Cheers..
I had my young son and his friends throwing peanuts upto him in the local park playground..
He certainly got fed very well that day.
