well you don't really need a professional camera to get good photos, just study photography as much as you can and you will be fine

yea i know that but my camera frustrates me when it blurs because of the flash not helping when there is artificial light and the iso and such is auto on half the settings so i cant really change anything... but i'll pick up some advice on photography

This is a beautiful picture, I love the contrast of the colors in the sky against the sunflowers.

The PP is very bold, but this is an aesthetically excellent image.

haha, awesome!
I know quite a bit about grads because I have read so many forum threads ont he subject. I suspect you know a bit too, but I will summarise.
Best makers are: Singh Ray and Lee. Hitec are not quite as good, but cheaper. Cokin produce colour casts. Buying large rectangular filters is best, 150x100mm. Hard transitions for straight horizons. Use soft transitions for more mountainous horizons. 1 stop filters are useless. 2 stop make a good compromise for most situations, usually at the very least allowing you to capture the complete tonal range in 1 exposure. 3 stop filters will give you a better balanced exposure for sunsets etc. Several photographers hand hold the filters for at least part of the time, notable Marc Adamus. Thats all I know!
Check out the fredmiranda general gear talk and landscape forums for more info. Most people over there use singh rays or Lee.

The sky is like an open canvas full of paint, and these flowers look like they are people standing in an organized way talking to each others about something they see.. something more interesting than that beatiful feast on sky, so they don't look up. This photo is very inspiring to make a fantasy story ^^
