Description
Where Eternity Stands in LineLike waiting for judgement say, there they stood, in all their glory....40s era Fords, Oldsmobile's, Pontiac's, Chevy's....awaiting the rodders touch to be sculptured in lead, and reincarnated into a new life as a hotrod.
Sadly, as much as I love this place, it is now forever gone. I did many shoots at Classical Gas in Eaton, Colorado....and now it is just a memory....it is forever closed as the owner has recently passed away. I was lucky enough to have been here as often as I could...preserving it forever with my camera. And while it is an older shot, it seems just like yesterday I was standing there taking this....time stands still......much as it did for the classic 40s Detroit iron.......

Damn man I love the colors you have going on in that. Is that an HDR also, or just crafty hand work? Sweetness>

Beautiful shot! Love the colors and great cars! But it is a sad story ... at least you have the pictures to keep their memories alive!

wow, awesome, but very very chilling. It almost feels ghost-like, or maybe kind of apocalyptic...
of course that means I like it all the more

ok no problem I know from the start that yer cam doubtfully shoots in RAW, most compacts don't these days sadly....so here is how ya can do HDR work.
There are generally 2 ways to do it, you can bracket 3 exposures, or you can do single shot HDR work. But before I go any farther I need to know what you are using to edit your photos. That is important

ahhhhhhh ok yer set!
Which version of Photomatix do ya have?? The pro version???

kkart In reply to Ilusion-Island [2007-11-29 12:30:34 +0000 UTC]
lets have some fun then shall we ?
Here is what I want ya to do......
Granted this is pseudo HDR, as it is just one pic, not 3 or more, but will give u an idea.....
Open any image in CS, one that doesn't have blown highlights. Go to Image--> Mode--> 16 bits, and do that. Next go to file--> choose "save as" and save it to your desktop
Now I want ya to open Photomatix, and go to file--open, and open that file. Then I want you to go to
HDR--> Tone Mapping. Play with the settings, they are VERY strong, so be careful! Experiment some
Warning, this is addictive! lol
