Description
Where Eternity Stands in LineLike waiting for judgement say, there they stood, in all their glory....40s era Fords, Oldsmobile's, Pontiac's, Chevy's....awaiting the rodders touch to be sculptured in lead, and reincarnated into a new life as a hotrod.
Sadly, as much as I love this place, it is now forever gone. I did many shoots at Classical Gas in Eaton, Colorado....and now it is just a memory....it is forever closed as the owner has recently passed away. I was lucky enough to have been here as often as I could...preserving it forever with my camera. And while it is an older shot, it seems just like yesterday I was standing there taking this....time stands still......much as it did for the classic 40s Detroit iron.......
Thoughts welcomed, print to come.

That just may be every kustom-lover's dream right there. I see so much potential in all that old iron. Bitchin' dude, just bitchin'.

Beautiful shot. It is such a shame this place is gone.
We have nothing like this at all in Ireland.

These are very lovely cars!
Man, I gotta say, the lighting, the shot, and the colors go so well together.

Amazing Photograph! I have passed through Eaton numerous times and apparently failed to realize that such a place existed in such a small town. Anyway, once again great photo!

hey thanks! Ya it DID exist but is all but closed now as the owner died last year, sadly. It was an amazing place.

I just want to say that, even though these images are not my cup of tea (not much into cars myself)...
My father would have truly appreciated your way with these antiques. He used to restore old cars, so I think of him through every one of these images.

Well thank you! I have a love affair with old cars and the 'kulture' that surrounds them. It is really prevalent in hotrods and kustoms, which IMO are totally artistic rolling sculptures!
I spose once ya have spent 100s of hours hammering out the sides of a 50 Merc to form the curves in the sheet metal, well, you see em in a very different light
What kinda cars did yer Dad restore?

I hope I get this right, he passed some time ago, so my memory is a bit foggy...
72 Chevy Malibu, 71 Ford Torino (was actually my car for a while, and man was it fun!)... ugh the rest is tough. I know the years were 56, 2 46's, and a 44. I want to say that the 56 was a pontiac... and the other Dodge's. I will have to go back and do my research, damn memory.

Yeah he was really amazing at restoration... he used to race the 72 Malibu, and entered two of the other cars in Flame throwing competitions (I have one competition on VHS!) At one point he was also teaching me how to pinstripe, I have one of the original kits, with the brushes (not airbrush). I always wish that I had payed more attention to his mechanics, so I wouldn't have to rely on jerks who think they can take advantage of the fact that I am a girl, and probably don't know what they are talking about.

You really do an amazing job at them!

Well I certainly do appreciate that. I am also fortunate enough to have been able to photograph this place while it was still open. Late last year the owner passed away and all the cars were sold off. Such a shame really, because I loved going up there. That place had such an atmosphere....100s upon 100s of cars....nothing newer than 1970

again great lines and colour! I like how you choose to start the line with the most colourful car (not black!) and the texture in the wood is great. I don't think the bright white in the sky matters here, it adds to the effect!
