She didn't act this way in either season. Maybe in Pinkie Pride, but hey it's her birthday. Who wouldn't be selfish on their birthday?
I have a feeling this is a response to EG RD having a song titled "Awesome as I wanna be". But yeah, pony RD hasn't acted like this since Mare Do Well as far as I can remember.

As much as I love RD, this is the funniest thing featuring her I've seen in awhile.
Didn't one of the writers of FIM say RD was like Bart Simpson in an interview?
I admit she was very narcissistic in Rainbow Rocks and Pinkie Pride, but aside from that, she was pretty good in S4, even realizing that she'd be trading away her best friend just so she can have a book.
I really don't understand why people hate on her. So she's got an ego? So what?

Not since S2. She's been very tame in S3 and S4. For one, she nearly gave up her dream because her friends were in danger. Two, when she realized she was going to lose Fluttershy, she backed out of a trade for a book. She can be a narcissist sometimes, but not all the time.
And yes, it is part of her personality. I only found her obnoxious like that in Rainbow Rocks. Seems like human RD didn't learn the lessons that pony RD learned.
Then again, it's an alternate universe where everypony's character traits are exaggerated. Like Fluttershy is even more timid than in the actual show.
