My audition reference for my character Constantine for

Personal Information:

Constantine was born in Melbourne, Australia and grew up there. His father was a Starship captain before Con was born and during his childhood, being relieved of duty after a Klingon battle incident which saw him unfit for duty afterwards. Con's mother was always supportive of her son and his two siblings, though due to his father being away so frequently in space and because he was the youngest of three children Constantine often felt alone in the world and with no guidance.

Because of this he was quite a troubled teenager, he often stole and vandalised and mingled with the lower class of criminal, especially when he was around 18-19. He got caught in the act when he was younger several times (being excused with a harsh warning because of his age), but wised up by the time he was nearly 20, discontinuing his petty crimes and instead turning to alcohol to drown his problems.

To this day he wonders why he travelled to America and enrolled in Starfleet at the age of 22; perhaps it was to spite his father who continued to look down upon his son and his lack of honour and courage, or perhaps it was because he simply had no direction in life and needed something more.

When he arrived at the Academy he had no previous knowledge of Xenolinguistics but was quick to pick it up and soon developed a passion for it. Once he learned how to handle a phaser he quickly became a talented marksman and enjoys such an activity as a hobby. Not particularly suited for space, Constantine has a mild phobia of everything space related. He's fairly pessimistic and tries to swallow his concerns that everybody is going to die every time even a yellow alert is sounded aboard the ship.

He hates using the transporter and has a fear of beaming anywhere, as he simply does not like the idea of being jumbled up, sent through space and being reassembling at the other end. He's incredibly sarcastic and often makes wise cracks and remarks that have gotten him in trouble previously with his superiors, and while he still dislikes authority figures he respects his leaders. Mixed with his sarcasm is his humour, it's mostly a black humour but he often pokes fun at himself.

Extra facts:
Alcohol intake is to be watched. Con is a heavy drinker and a mean drunk, he also has a tendency towards sadomasochism and so starts fights while he is under the influence. Con is gay. He is often teased about his name sounding so girly; people call him "Connie" either affectionately or as a jab at him. He doesn't really mind being joked about, either joining in or shrugging it off or, most likely, retaliating with some sarcastic comment in good humor. Beware teasing him when he's in a bad mood, though! He often calls people "dear", "love" or "darling", not in a patronizing way but in an affectionate way. His build is fairly burly, he's no muscle man but he's well built and has a large stature. Wears a blue ring on his right middle finger.
