Description
This was painted for my friend Jennifer's sweet 16 today. It was also my first time painting on a canvas. I got two of them a few months ago because I was like, "Mom! If I buy a canvas, I get another for ONE cent!"
And she let me buy them, but as I was walking out of the store, I realized that I didn't paint. oAo;; So they sat around collecting dust for a while, until just the other day.
-horrible impulse buyer- XDDD
So I then I got some acrylic paint and brushes, but I don't have an easel, so I held the canvas with my knees the entire time I painted. It works. o 3o
The first few brush strokes were so crappy looking, I was almost going to give up on it, but I think things got better from there. It took me about 3 hours, which was a lot less time than I thought it took, but I'm happy with the result, and Jennifer seemed to like it. x]

you def got a good lay-in going and i think if you keep on painting in acrylic you could def come out with a more solid painting. but i love the emotion and vibrancy of this work.
well done

Get a strip of wood, attach it to your wall horizontally. Hang a piece of plywood from this strip with some hinges. At the bottom of the plywood, attach another strip of wood to prop your canvas on, and a piece of wood on the back attached by a hinge so that you can prop the plywood board out at an angle from the wall. You'll need a small piece of wood attached to the wall to keep this prop from slipping. Ta-dah! Easel.
You can scavenge the hinges from thrown out cabinets. (Big doors could work as the easel, if you don't paint too large.) Though you could probably get all of it for $20 at a hardware/lumber store. When not in use, it will sit flat against your wall, and you could even cover it with a poster or something. Just play with the height before you start putting holes in your wall.
Awesome use of color by the way! You're going to do very well in this field. I teach HS art.

You're too kind. <333 Not so much skill as simply spontaneous brush strokes.
Funny thing is, I was ogling your gallery before I read your comment. Now that's what I call beautiful and skillful Gotta love those feature memes.

I was so flattered by your comment I couldn't come up with an appropriate response for ...3 days. Nevertheless, thanks! Spontaneous brush strokes often lead to creations that are amazingly brilliant...
I hope you don't mind if I watch you.

You can watch me as long as I can watch you.
